07Road Courses
Drivers face a variety of technical, high-speed and traditional American road circuits requiring braking precision, car control, setup knowledge and racecraft.

Inaugural Season/November — February/Applications Open
America's new open-wheel racing championship begins in the virtual world. Twenty selected drivers. Ten races on the Dallara SF23 over seven road courses and three ovals. One champion.
* The American Formula Sim Series is an independently operated competition conducted on the iRacing simulation platform using the Super Formula SF23. The series is not affiliated with or endorsed by iRacing, Dallara, Japan Race Promotion or the Super Formula championship unless otherwise stated.
01The Championship
A championship built to identify the most complete driver — not simply the fastest hot-lapper.
AFS combines the precision and technical demands of road-course formula racing with something rarely found in high-level international formula competition: American-style oval racing.
Drivers will have to demonstrate more than raw speed. Twenty selected drivers contest ten rounds from November through February, with professional race broadcasts, a $5,000 purse and a Formula 3 test waiting at the end of it.
What the title demands
02The Car
Every competitor races the Toyota-powered Dallara SF23 available through iRacing — the current-generation chassis developed by Italian constructor Dallara for Japan's premier open-wheel championship, Super Formula.
The real-world SF23 pairs an exceptionally lightweight formula chassis with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing more than 550 horsepower, with an aerodynamic package developed in part to encourage closer racing and increased overtaking. iRacing's officially developed virtual SF23 brings that platform into simulation, including its sophisticated vehicle dynamics and overtaking system.
The SF23 rewards precision. Small mistakes matter. Consistency matters. Racecraft matters. That is exactly why AFS chose it.

03The Schedule
The inaugural championship runs November through February, built around a combination of America's most recognizable road courses and oval tracks.
07Road Courses
Drivers face a variety of technical, high-speed and traditional American road circuits requiring braking precision, car control, setup knowledge and racecraft.

03Ovals
Three oval races bring an unmistakably American element to the formula racing experience — drafting, traffic management, side-by-side racing, changing balance, strategic positioning and decisions made at extremely high speeds.

04Who Can Compete
AFS is looking for twenty talented, committed drivers who want to compete in a serious championship environment. What matters is the ability — and the commitment — to compete.
Drivers may come from
Applications are reviewed as they arrive. Every submission is read, and drivers under consideration are contacted directly about the next steps toward a confirmed entry.
Speed is part of the evaluation, but so are consistency, conduct, reliability and the ability to commit to a full season alongside the media activity that surrounds a broadcast championship.
AFS is not being built as a casual drop-in league. There is no open grid, no rotating entry list and no space for drivers who disappear halfway through a season.
We are building a championship.
05More Than Sim Racing
AFS is being developed as the virtual foundation for the future American Formula Series — a proposed real-world American open-wheel championship targeted for later this decade.
The Sim Series is the first stage of a larger vision: a distinctly American formula racing platform combining competition, driver development, media and entertainment — and a laboratory for everything the real championship will need.
01Drivers compete
A real grid, real standings, real pressure across a full season.
02Fans discover personalities
Names and rivalries that carry from one round to the next.
03Sponsors activate
Partners test motorsport programs in a measurable environment.
04Broadcast concepts are developed
Storytelling, graphics and formats refined round by round.
05Tracks and formats are tested
Circuit mix, race length and structure proven in competition.
06Communities are built
An audience that exists before the first physical car turns a wheel.
The virtual championship begins establishing the identity of American Formula before the first physical race car ever takes the green flag. The objective is a pathway in which sim racing and real-world motorsports are no longer completely separate worlds.
06Race For Something
$5,000
Championship prize
The objective is simple: provide a meaningful reward that reaches beyond a virtual trophy, and give the champion an opportunity to demonstrate ability in a real racing environment.
Plus
The inaugural champion earns a seat in a real Formula 3 car — the point where a season of virtual results turns into a genuine on-track evaluation.
Virtual competition.
Real opportunity.

07Watch the Championship
Race coverage takes the championship beyond the competitors themselves and turns AFS into a motorsports entertainment property — focused not only on the racing, but on the drivers inside the cars.
Because racing becomes more compelling when fans know who is inside the car.
08Built By
The American Formula Sim Series is an initiative of Speedway Venture Studio LLC, a motorsports-focused venture studio building businesses at the intersection of racing, media, technology, driver opportunity and fan engagement.
AFS is an important part of that strategy: use racing as both a competitive platform and a media platform, while creating new opportunities for drivers, partners and fans.
09Apply to Race
